Here are the notes from the meeting.  6/5/08

 

1. Musicians will be sitting in chairs. It was felt that there needed to be a focal point for the audience to follow. Chairs are necessary so students in the back can see the musicians. The audience will sit in a horseshoe shaped arrangement. Other Pachanga leaders (Jessica, Li) could be in the audience and stand up when helping to lead songs. Pachanga announcers could also sit on chairs.

 

2. Each homestation will have one request song per semester. That one request song will be practiced for one month (roughly). Each Pachanga will have four request songs. That will leave half of Pachanga to do Spanish, birthdays and accommodate any other requests such as presenting work, guest musicians, etc. Hopefully, singing the same four songs for a month at a time will lead to more overall participation. Cindy will e-mail the request schedule as well as post it in the office.  Requests will begin sometime in October.

 

3. Jess will make available the lyrics for Pachanga songs.

 

4.The concept of assembly should be encouraged (i.e. students presenting work, songs, poetry, etc..)

 

5. We will have older students role model for younger students how to leave Pachanga quietly or singing.
